Muldraugh’s Leaders Are Failing This Town, and I’m Done Staying Quiet

Candidate for Meade County Jailer

Let me say it straight and without any political polish: I am pissed off.

Not because I enjoy writing about corruption. Not because I want to “stir the pot” or play some game of local gossip. I’m pissed because the people of Muldraugh are being lied to, ignored, cheated, and outright disrespected by the very people who are supposed to be serving them.

Mayor Anthony Lee.
City Clerk Lynette McAdams.
Police Chief Tim Jackson.

You three have turned this town into a damn circus, and the taxpayers are the ones left cleaning up after your messes.

This Isn’t Journalism for Drama — It’s a Call for Accountability

Yeah, I’ve been writing a lot about the City of Muldraugh. And some people might say, “Josh, let it go. Stop writing about it. It’s causing trouble.”

Let me make this crystal clear: I’m not causing the trouble — I’m exposing it.

If these so-called leaders were doing their jobs with honesty, transparency, and even a shred of decency, there wouldn’t be anything to write about. But instead, they hide documents, ignore public records laws, hire people without doing basic background checks, and flush taxpayer money down the damn toilet.

So no — I won’t “let it go.” I won’t shut up. I won’t back off.

I’m not here to be liked. I’m here to tell the truth.
And if that pisses some people off? Good.

Mayor Anthony Lee: In Over His Head or Just Doesn’t Give a Damn?

Let’s start with Mayor Anthony Lee — the man who somehow hired a police chief without ever checking his background. That mistake? It could cost the city $29,573 because Chief Tim Jackson had a binding contract with Edmonson County when he jumped ship to take the Muldraugh job.

Now the sheriff of Edmonson County wants the city to pay up — and rightfully so. That’s money this town doesn’t have. And what does Mayor Lee do? Nothing. No press release. No apology. Not even the decency to address it publicly. Just pure silence.

That’s not leadership — that’s cowardice.

And let’s not forget: silence isn’t neutral. Silence is complicity. When you don’t own up to mistakes that big, you’re not just unqualified — you’re dangerous.

Lynette McAdams: The Gatekeeper of Secrets

City Clerk Lynette McAdams should be a neutral, professional steward of public records and city business. Instead, she’s turned her office into a locked vault of unanswered questions.

I submitted an open records request — a legal, taxpayer-backed request — and what did I get back? A half-assed packet missing 102 pages. And the city gave me a check for $10.20, like that made it all okay. Like it was just miscounted, but how do you miscount 102 pages You don’t.

Let me tell you something — $10.20 doesn’t erase the suspicion. It doesn’t undo the damage. It doesn’t fix the fact that you either can’t count or you’re hiding something.

And in Muldraugh, it’s hard to tell which is worse: incompetence or cover-up.

Chief Tim Jackson: The Invisible Enforcer

And then we’ve got Tim Jackson. Muldraugh’s Chief of Police. Or should I say “Chief of Parking at City Hall,” because no one ever sees him actually working. Residents aren’t seeing patrols. They aren’t seeing visibility. They’re seeing a police cruiser parked outside of City Hall like a damn decoration.

This is the same man who left a signed contract with Edmonson County hanging in the wind — a contract that he didn’t disclose when taking the Muldraugh job. That’s not a slip-up. That’s a deliberate omission.

So, let’s get this straight:

  • He lied by omission.
  • He rarely patrols.
  • He let officer suspected of DUI drive
  • Denied records that he was authorized to deny
  • Open records request to private businesses
  • Under FBI investigation
  • Arrested people outside of his jurisdiction
  • He’s racking up legal problems for the city.
And somehow… he still has a badge and a paycheck.

That’s not just pathetic. That’s insulting to every hard-working cop, taxpayer, and citizen who expects better.

I’m Not Afraid of Backlash — I Invite It

People say to me, “Josh, what if this costs you votes?”
Here’s my answer: Then so be it.

If telling the truth, exposing corruption, and holding crooked officials accountable means I lose a few votes, I’ll wear that like a badge of honor.

Because I don’t play the game of “stay quiet and keep the peace.” I wasn’t raised like that. I believe in doing what’s right, even when it’s uncomfortable — especially when it’s uncomfortable.

If I get elected to be your next Meade County Jailer, I expect to be held to the same standard I’m demanding right now.

  • Expect honesty from me.
  • Expect transparency from me.
  • Expect results.

And if I ever fail at any one of those — if I lie, cover up, or stop showing up for the people — I’ll resign. No excuses. No bullshit.

That’s the kind of public servant you deserve.

These Officials Forgot Who They Work For

The worst part of all of this? These people genuinely think they’re untouchable. They think because they hold a title, they get to act like kings and queens of a tiny town. But let me remind you of something:

You work for us.

You don’t get to:

  • Hide records.
  • Lie about contracts.
  • Misuse funds.
  • Ignore your own damn community.

And if you do, you will be called out — by me, by the press, by the citizens, and by anyone with the guts to speak the truth.

This Ends When We Say It Does

This isn’t just a Muldraugh problem. This is what happens when a town stops paying attention. When officials stop fearing consequences. When citizens get tired and start believing nothing will change.

Well guess what — change is coming.
Because people are done being quiet.
Done being lied to.
Done being played.

And I’m going to be loud, relentless, and unshakable in making sure the corruption ends now. I’m not stopping. Not until every shady deal is dragged into the daylight and every crooked official is either doing their job — or shown the damn door.

So to the corrupt, lazy, and dishonest in Muldraugh: consider this your warning.
The people are watching.
I’m watching.
And I don’t forget.
I don’t back down.
And I don’t lose sleep over doing the right thing.

You should.
