Chief Tim Jackson Caught in $29,573 Lie

MULDRAUGH, KY — You can smell the smoke from City Hall — because Police Chief Tim Jackson’s pants are on fire, and now the taxpayers of Muldraugh may be left burned to the tune of $29,573.

In what’s being called one of the most brazen acts of dishonesty by a public official in recent memory, Chief Jackson flat-out lied about his contract status with the Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office. And while he was busy spinning fiction, Mayor Anthony Lee sat on his hands, never checking a single fact — allowing this disaster to roll right through the front door of city government.

The Lie Heard ‘Round Muldraugh

It started with a phone call. Joshua Ferguson, owner of Muldraugh Register LLC, directly asked Jackson:

“Did Muldraugh buy out your contract from Edmonson County?”

Jackson’s response?

“I’m not under contract. Haven’t been since I left Grayson County. Never signed anything with Edmonson. Muldraugh didn’t pay a dime.”

Sounds clear, doesn’t it? Too bad every word of it was false.

Thanks to a public records request — the kind Jackson probably hoped would never come — Ferguson uncovered a signed contract between Jackson and Edmonson County. Yes, he signed it. Yes, he was under contract. And yes, it includes a $29,573 buyout clause.

And now that Jackson abandoned Edmonson to take the Muldraugh job, Edmonson County may come calling — and Muldraugh may be legally responsible for the payment.

Negligence by Mayor Lee

Let’s be crystal clear: This didn’t happen in a vacuum. While Jackson was busy lying, Mayor Anthony Lee failed to do even the most basic due diligence.

Not once during the hiring process did Mayor Lee call Edmonson County. Not once did he verify Jackson’s employment status. Not once did he ask if any contractual strings were attached. Had he bothered to pick up the phone, this entire mess could have been avoided.

Instead, we have a city potentially liable for nearly $30,000 — all because of arrogance, incompetence, or both.

Taxpayers Outraged

“This is absolutely insane,” said Ferguson. “Jackson flat-out lied, and the mayor either didn’t care enough or wasn’t competent enough to check. Now, it’s the public that may have to pay for their failure.”

City residents are fuming — and they should be. This isn’t a clerical error. This is deception. This is a public official lying to cover his own tracks — and a mayor who let it happen on his watch.

The Big Questions

  • Will Muldraugh be forced to pay the $29,573 to Edmonson County?
  • Will Chief Jackson be disciplined or removed for lying to the public?
  • Will Mayor Lee take responsibility or continue to pretend this isn’t his problem?
  • How many more corners have been cut under this administration?

This isn’t just a bad look — it’s a governmental failure from top to bottom, and the people of Muldraugh deserve better.

Final Word

This isn’t politics. This is about honesty, leadership, and public trust — all of which are now up in flames under the watch of Chief Jackson and Mayor Lee.

This is a developing story.
Stay tuned — because if you’re not paying attention now, you’ll sure wish you had been
