During April 14th 2025 Muldraugh city Council meeting Chief Tim Jackson gave some updates
The city of Muldaugh Police Chief Tim Jackson says Muldraugh has been awarded two different body armor grants from the state of Kentucky and attorney general’s office One is for soft plate armors four of those that have been approved an total of $12,000 no cost to the city. They also just got approved for a total of five officers the second round of the attorney general’s hard plate grant program which is roughly $40,000 That’ll come with shields exterior plates a little heavier body armor in case there was an active shooting or something in the county Again that’s no cost to the city.
Citizens are complaining that the prior chief got donations just shy of 2 years ago, why do we need new ones already, necessarily they don’t but its no cost to the city, currently the city does not have hard plate hard plate vest that would be necessary in the case of a active shooter situation, New soft vest at no cost to the city is a great thing these are for officer everyday wearing, think would you want to wear something that another person had sweated in, everyone of the current vest had been used, with chief Jackson in the hiring process of more officers it great that these guys are coming in with new equipment.
Another topic was body cam, Myself has always agreed with them while they can hold both officer and citizens accountable it can also help in investigations and court ect. it is a great tool for the officers to have.
To the citizens of Muldraugh give Chief Jackson a chance don’t jump the gun cause of past members of law enforcement in this small town, from what I have seen he’s doing a great job more then what we have seen in the past, He states he has a open door policy, so go talk to him and voice concerns before you judge his character based on the city’s current or past employees, as you all know I am no longer a resident of the city of Muldraugh but do have my kids and friends that do live in the city, and im still a big part in the city I will always think of my home Chief Jackson reached out to me cause he wants to sit down and talk about his vision and what he wants to do in town, so give the man a chance to earn your respect.
